Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Wiggs’ father was a dentist, which had a big influence on his decision to pursue the profession. He went into his undergraduate studies with the intention of going into dentistry and is proud to be able to carry on his father’s legacy, which started right here at Wiggs Family Dentistry.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Wiggs attended Wake Forest University before attending the University of Louisville in Kentucky, where he earned his dental degree. Following his graduation, he completed a General Practice Residency at the hospital at the University of Louisville, where he gained training in all aspects of general dentistry. After completing his residency in 2012, he came right to Wiggs Family Dentistry to work with his father, Dr. Lynn Wiggs.
Dr. Wiggs is committed to staying up to date with the latest advancements in dentistry and regularly pursues continuing education through Raleigh Periodontics and Implant Education Association. He is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) and has extensive training in the placement and restoration of dental implants. He also completed a year-long continuing education course at Triangle Dental Institute.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Wiggs is married to his wife, CarolAnn Wiggs, who is a physical therapist that treats sports medicine and orthopedic patients. Together, they have two young sons that enjoy being outdoors playing baseball, soccer, and ice hockey. Dr. Wiggs enjoys playing tennis with his wife and sons at the Carolina Country Club, coaching his kids’ sports teams, and going fishing and boating in Beaufort, North Carolina. He also enjoys hunting and fly fishing and attending Carolina Hurricane games with his family!
